Objectives of the Position:
Director of Development/Advancement is responsible to assist the CEO in donor development by leading the Development Team which will coordinate established fundraising events and campaigns that encourage, maintain and increase philanthropic sources of income. Director of Development/Advancement will work with staff, volunteers, churches, and our constituency to ensure participation as well as success in attaining established goals.
Director of Development /Advancement is accountable to and under the direct supervision of the CEO.
Christian with consistent testimony and regular church involvement.
Clear commitment to pro-life cause.
Agreement with the Statement of Faith and Commitment of Care
Dynamic human relations skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledgeable in the use and maintenance of computer data bases.
Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in non-profit events development or equivalent.
Demonstrable network of local community contacts.
Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, communications or humanities desired.
Self-motivated, dependable, creative, resourceful and responsible.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
*Invite pastors to preferably tour BRWC or meet with you at their church. There have been many changes at BRWC for them to see even if they have toured already.
*Keep the church database current/updated.
*Provide facility tours of BRWC to various people (pastors, leaders of youth and women’s ministries, church members, potential volunteers, etc.) to explain what we do and ways how they might help BRWC.
*Schedule and deliver verbal presentations to churches/organizations about BRWC within the amount of time provided for the following occasions/events: Baby Bottle Campaigns, Walk for Life, Baby Showers, Youth Sexual Integrity Talks, Missions Fairs, Community/Church events, Businesses, Schools, Organizations that Provide Grants, etc.
*Schedule and represent BRWC at Community/Church events, Missions Fairs, Schools, and Health Fairs by setting up a display table and telling people about BRWC.
*Recruit, train, and lead Volunteer Ambassadors who will also represent BRWC after completing all required paperwork and training with the Client Services staff. Communicate the event details to Volunteer Ambassadors for times they will represent BRWC.
*Recruit volunteer groups; provide them with a facility tour if possible and provide verbal and written instructions for them to follow throughout the duration of their time spent volunteering. Coordinate in advance who will provide the supplies needed. These events may include group projects at BRWC such as cleaning, painting or weeding; Diaper Drives; Car Washes, etc.
*Develop and maintain development and advancement materials for distribution as needed.
*Pray for those you meet with when you are with them.
*Oversee and manage the Development Team – Baby Bottle Coordinator, Walk Manager, Banquet Manager, Communications Director, Events Manager. Evaluate and recruit as needed.
Director of Development /Advancement position is a full-time position (32-40 hours/week) unless determined otherwise by the CEO.
Director of Development/Advancement shall receive an annual evaluation by the CEO after an initial 90-day performance evaluation.
Commensurate with experience. ($45k-$60k)
