Objectives of the Position:

The Walk for Life Manager is responsible to assist CEO in donor development by managing and coordinating BRWC’s established fundraising event “Walk for Life”.  The WFL Manager will work with staff, volunteers, churches, and our constituency to ensure participation as well as success in attaining established goals.

Accountable to:

WFL Manager is accountable to and under the direct supervision of the CEO.

Qualifications:

Christian with consistent testimony and regular church involvement.

Clear commitment to pro-life cause.

Agreement with the Statement of Faith and Commitment of Care

Dynamic human relations skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Knowledgeable in the use and maintenance of computer data bases.

Ability to work independently without constant supervision.

Minimum two years experience in non-profit events development or equivalent.

Demonstrable network of local community contacts.

Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, communications or humanities desired.

Self motivated, dependable, creative, resourceful and responsible.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

*Schedule and deliver verbal presentations to churches/organizations about BRWC and the WFL event. 

*Schedule and represent BRWC at Community/Church events, Missions Fairs, Schools, and Health Fairs by setting up a display table and telling people about the BRWC and WFL.

*Coordinate, recruit and train the team of Volunteer Ambassadors who will also speak at churches/organizations about the WFL.

*Schedule and complete all required paperwork for the Walk for Life.

*Recruit Underwriters to give toward this event.

*Collaborate with the Communications Director regarding follow up after marketing pieces have been mailed to churches and constituents.

*Contact constituents before and after paperwork is mailed to them to ask them to give and participate.

*Walk for Life: Schedule Church Presentations with our supportive churches that have young members to recruit registered walkers. Communicate regularly with all Group Leaders and Registered Walkers to encourage more people to register and explain how to utilize the fundraising website tool.

*Collect prizes from stores for the Walk for Life and ask stores to donate food and water for the event.

*Collaborate with the Communications Director to select a Walk for Life t-shirt and design.

*Direct everyone on what to do on the day of the events.

 *Recruit and coach all volunteers needed. Mail thank you notes to all volunteers after the events.

*Call and thank all the WFL participants. Invite them to tour BRWC with you.

*Pray for those you meet with when you are with them.

Time Demands:

The Walk for Life Manager position is a part time position unless determined otherwise by CEO (usually 10-20 hours/week).  This is a seasonal event (Spring) with task intensity from February through June.

Evaluations:

The Walk for Life Manager shall receive an annual evaluation by the CEO after an initial 90-day performance evaluation.
